The "Rosewood Hudson" Scam REVEALED

For some time, people have complained that Atlantic Credit and Finance, operated by Richard and Kelly Woolwine, had set up a "fake" law firm in the name of "Rosewood Hudson" to further intimidate alleged debtors.

Well, here's proof, here's the corporate record for Rosewood Hudson, showing the Woolwines' names.

It is not known why their real "legal partner", the Law Office of John P. Frye (Frye is believed to be a cousin of the Woolwines), did not offer enough intimidation.

Richard Woolwine is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). They have a very simple honor code: "a cadet does not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do."

It seems that setting up a fake law firm is both lying and cheating. It is a little late to expel Richard Woolwine from VMI, but VMI could refuse to have anything to do with Woolwine.

In the meantime, if any entity connected to Atlantic Credit and Finance contacts you, you should ask them about Rosewood Hudson. You can also complain to the Virginia State Bar, as the corporate records shown above were current as of October, 2011.

Atlantic Credit and Finance: Revealing Letter

This letter is very interesting.

First of all, it confirms, without a doubt, the relationship between Atlantic Credit and Finance and the Law Offices of John P. Frye.

Second, the initial settlement offer is for half of the total debt. That confirms the suspicion that these debts are purchased for pennies on the dollar.

Go ahead and validate the debt. If, by some chance, they do validate, offer them about 10 percent and go from there.

Harassed by Blitt and Gaines, Attorneys for Atlantic Credit and Finance

This is typical of the Woolwine operation. Note that in this case, they could not use their cousin, John P. Frye, as he's not admitted in Illinois.

Blitt and Gaines are just as bad as he is though.

Note how their representative, attorney-at-law Angela Vandeventer, made a deal.

Then they broke it. Blitt and Gaines and Atlantic Credit and Finance were then sued. As usual, they settled out of court.

Do not tolerate this type of harassment. Know your rights and fight for them!

It is no secret that there is a close, if not incestuous, relationship between Atlantic Credit and Finance and the Law Office of John P. Frye.

The Woolwine brothers, Richard and Kelly, who run Atlantic Credit and Finance, are cousins of John P. Frye.

Another "kellie" is Kelly Carter. You can reach her on (866) 392-3100, extension 3111. She's with the Law Office of John P. Frye, but she works very closely with Chris Perdue at Atlantic Credit and Finance.

Her job? Handling phone complaints. That's why she's there. If you are receiving too many calls, harassing calls, or even calls looking for someone not at your number, give her a call and she'll take care of it!

Sued in Florida - Harassment from Roanoke

Atlantic Credit and Finance never change. Here is an affidavit (double click on it to enlarge it) from a case filed in 2009. The plaintiffs allege that harassing calls are coming from (540) 772-7800. That's Atlantic Credit and Finance, 3353 Orange Avenue NE, Roanoke, VA 24012. Look at what's happening:

Atlantic Credit and Finance has been threatening the plaintiff with a lawsuit, but has yet to file one;
Atlantic Credit and Finance has called the plaintiff at work;
Atlantic Credit and Finance does not always identify themselves when they call;
Atlantic Credit and Finance has made demeaning and harassing comments, telling the plaintiff they are in "sad shape" based upon their "expert" review of the plaintiff's credit report.

These people should be closed down. These are violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Richard Woolwine, Kelly Woolwine, Patrick Gardner, John Harvey, Todd Kaus, and John P. Frye should be put out of business.

IRS CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION

The IRS' Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has initiated an investigation of Atlantic Credit and Finance and the Law Offices of John P. Frye.

The reason is false 1099 filings. Woolwine, Frye, and company have been trying to "charge off" debts they don't handle properly.

In one case, a person received a 1099 from Atlantic Credit and Finance. This same person had disputed the debt, and requested, but never received a debt validation letter from the Law Offices of John P. Frye.

What's wrong with Virginia Tech?

Meet John Harvey, Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Atlantic Credit and Finance. According to his official biography, he graduated from Virginia Tech.

But, take a look at this. Look closely at the account number. Uh-oh! Someone down at Atlantic Credit and Finance doesn't seem to understand numeric formats very well.

How did Harvey let this slip through? Thousands, if not more, of these must have been sent out by now.

It will give you a look at the inner workings of Atlantic Credit and Finance, Cargill, Richard Woolwine and the industry as a whole (Atlantic Credit and Finance sued MBNA).

Note of course that Woolwine bought MBNA debt at nine cents on the dollar. Keep that in mind when his cousin, John P. Frye, tells you there's no negotiating room. Offer half, they will still make money. Make sure you refer to this case.

Richard Woolwine: Walking the Walk?

Atlantic Credit and Finance's CEO Richard Woolwine is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute.

This school, which fought all the way to the Supreme Court to avoid admitting women, has a very strict honor code. Lying, cheating, and stealing are not tolerated in any form.

What's interesting is that many of those employed by Woolwine, and his cousin, John P. Frye, seem to do a fair amount of lying (can you say Rosewood Hudson?) in order to collect on debts, real and otherwise.

It is also interesting that some former employees report that "military discipline" is applied. Could it be that Woolwine is trying to relive his days at VMI? Or is it possible that Woolwine, who, despite graduation from this prestigious institution, could only find employment in food service, wishes things had turned out a bit differently?

Woolwine seems to have a lot to answer for. If he were a rat today, he would not last very long!

We'd like to know if he ever wears a coatee on the collection floor.

Rosewood Hudson: Fake Law Firm?

People used to get calls from collectors claiming they were "asset investigators" with the firm of Rosewood Hudson.

Is this a real law firm, or just something fake that Frye and Woolwine cooked up to scam people?

There is no listing for Rosewood Hudson in any legal directory. legal directories, by the way, can be very useful in dealing with unscrupulous debt collectors and their attorney associates.

If you ever had to file a bar complaint against John P. Frye, you might bring up Rosewood Hudson, who knows what the bar association has on them?

This is certainly something you could raise in a consumer complaint against Atlantic Credit and Finance. Rosewood Hudson was listed as an affiliate of Atlantic, controlled by brothers Richard and Kelly Woolwine. It is also pretty much public knowledge that the Law Office of John P. Frye is the tool the Woolwines, and Atlantic, use to scare people into paying.

But a fake law firm? What's up with that?
